Over the last week, or thereabouts, The Shadow at the Gate has picked up three positive reviews. One was by Lis at the Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell. The second was by Juli at A Universe in Words, and the third was by Scott at Indie Book Blogger. All three of these reviewers previously reviewed the first book in the Tormay Trilogy, The Hawk and His Boy, and had liked it. Needless to say, I was nervous about what they would think of The Shadow. The stereotypical sophomore slump in writing series is a genuine concern. Thankfully, they all liked the book. Whew. I’m going to publish book number three, The Wicked Day, fairly soon, so that means a whole new round of nervousness when I send them that book.
A round of nervousness, on the house…
I did not know the Hawk has a new cover, it looks great 😀
Thanks! I’m glad you like it. The old cover definitely was not working…
