The Ocean Won’t Burn

I just posted a new story on Amazon called The Ocean Won’t Burn. It’s actually a rewrite of a short story from my Model Universe collection. The new version is about four times as long and is much more intricate in terms of plot and the main character’s inner perspective. It’s a melancholy, odd little story (not precisely little, as it’s around 12,000 words, which almost qualifies it for novella length) that deals with issues of home and family and death. Cheery, aren’t I? The serious issues, I’ve always thought, are the issues worth writing about, whether via drama or comedy. The unexamined life is not worth living and all that sort of thing.
