The Ruin Raiders is my newest series–humorous epic fantasy written with a fairly light heart and intended to be doled out in episodic-sized bites. Kinda like a streamer series. That approach allows me to finish the stories fairly quickly and get them out. As opposed to waiting years for a tombstone-sized epic fantasy novel. After all, I’m not the quickest writer on the planet. Far from it.
Rise of the Farmboy – book 1 in the Ruin Raiders series
Ben just wanted to join the army, punch some goblins, and retire with a plot of farmland and a wife prettier than the tavernkeeper’s daughter.
Instead, he finds himself on the run from the secret police, thrown in a dungeon cell, nearly murdered by a gorgeous woman with a disturbing interest in his eyeballs, and recruited by a washed-up wizard and a homicidal elf-thief who’s just stolen the map to an ancient, accursed city.
Ben wanted adventure. He just did not expect quite so much of it.

Westward to Ravelock – book 2 in the Ruin Raiders series
After joining the mysterious wizard Murgolin and the elf Larcky, Ben finds himself sailing across the Great Inland Sea to the island city of Ravelock.
Beyond the island lies the legendary Wastelands, an endless wilderness of ruins full of riches, magic and monsters. Lots and lots of monsters.
The ancient map that Larcky stole points the way to a lost city deep within the Wastelands. An ancient, accursed ruin stuffed with enough treasure to make them all rich.
Recruited into Murgolin’s five-man ruin-raiding team as the basher, Ben is excited to get off the island and go exploring.
Assuming, of course, he and his teammates can first survive rival raiders, suspicious castle officials, and several rounds in the boxing ring with a gnome.
Ben really did want adventure. But maybe joining the army would’ve been a lot safer.
