Excellent, as Mr. Burns is fond of saying. The Fellows Hip, the film I co-wrote, just got into the Los Angeles Fear & Fantasy Film Festival. The festival is in Burbank, California, May 7-11, if you’re in the area and inclined to such things.
My film is screening May 8, Wednesday night, at 8pm at the Banshee Theater.
One more link in the creative chain. For quite a long time now, I’ve been torn creatively between film, writing and music. One of my professors in grad school scolded me about trying to keep a foot in all three worlds (three feet?) and said that I need to choose one and give up the other two. I can’t. I won’t. I shan’t. My goal is to create in all three worlds: write fiction, make films, and compose and record music. I’m bound and determined to proceed, even if this is to the detriment of what I do with all three mediums.
Next up? Writing: The Fury Clock (soon to be published). Film: The Small Things (screenplay almost finished and, hopefully, soon into pre-production). Music: the yet-unnamed Famous Generals or Dictators kids album (educational songs, each a mini-biography of a famous general or dictator; why? because!).
Excellent indeed. Three thumbs up (or two thumbs and a big toe?).
