Feel Just Fine

This one is a couple layers of guitars and about four layers of voices. Pretty straightforward mix. The song discusses the arrogance of Man and the inevitable end that comes for us all. As the lyrics say, I hope we “make it on time.” I won’t explain the song further than that, as it’s nice to leave some of that to the listener.

An extremely polished version of this song exists in a different arrangement, done in collaboration with an old friend, Mike Pilato (he was the guitar player in my college band). That arrangement was done for the soundtrack of the indie film The Fellows Hip. I’m not certain, but I think the film is going to final picture lock and mix sometime this year.

  2. I just heard this song in the movie, and run to search some information about, but i could not find Lyrics and tabs, it make me very disappointed, i really loved this song. I´m from Brazil, and do not speak your language very well, but i would like to ask you for the lyrics and chords, please! this beautiful song captivate me. You are blessed with great talent!

    • Hi Marlon. My apologies for replying so late. Thanks for your kind compliments. I’m glad you like the song! I’ll post the lyrics below, but it might take me some time to dig up the chords. I haven’t played this song in a long time and can’t exactly remember them (plus, I have tons of songs scribbled in random notebooks all over my house, so finding one isn’t the easiest thing)… By the way, the “got a job” verse isn’t in the film version of Feel Just Fine.
      FEEL JUST FINE
took a walk ’round the corner / saw what the world had done
didn’t come out of nowhere / not like we just begun
      and they say…everyday…

      CHORUS
we can do it, we can fix it, yeah, we feel just fine
we can make it, we can fake it, yeah, we feel just fine
we can change it, rearrange it, yeah, we feel just fine
      today…today…today…

did my time in the same school / taught me all the rules
now I’m full of such knowledge / I am the standard fool
      and they say…every day…

got a job making money / what else should I do?
pay me and I’ll pay you / until the day is through
      and they say…every day…

drove the end of the highway / looking for a sign
turned off at the exit / hope I make it on time
      and they say…every day…

  3. Thank you so much for your reply. I downloaded de film version at the Swordsongrecords website and there is a verse on it, something like “people are running leaving behind…” was what i could understand.. Do you remember this verse?
I’m planning to make a cover and post it on youtube if you agree, i don’t have relevant skills, but would like to show it to my friends. If i succeed, it will be my first cover.

    • I’m glad you like it. I think certain audio players will automatically strip the file from the site, but I can’t remember which ones. I’ll just email you a mp3 of the song.

    • Hi Glen. Glad you liked the music. Are you just talking about getting the Feel Just Fine song? No need to buy it. I’ll dig it up and email it to you.

    • I’m glad you like the song! It’s one of my favorites. I have a lot of other songs on this site as well, same sort of style for the most part, folk to rock, and some instrumentals. Anyway, thank you for stopping by.
